Today I got to my studio early to finish "Youth and the Floating Worlds". Having a professor with a similar creative background (illustration) has unlocked a little more ideating for me. I'm finding that coming up with cohesive lessons isn't as daunting as it used to be. I created a mobile of things I spend my time on, including media, things I keep alive, and tasks.

Class was, again, arduous. I have a hard time sitting still and listening for that long, especially without any hands-on learning experiences. It makes it hard to understand what the point is, and what the key takeaways are from the lecture.

Luckily, I already teach a history of graffiti unit, but the idea of ephemeral art has added some ideas for additional lessons.

I chose to go around Salem, drawing "hellmo" in places where people usually stand around to take touristy pictures. I chose this image because it makes me happy, and it is a recognizable meme, and I chose these places to be a slight nuisance to those wanting to memorialize their trip.

My first idea was to collect litter from tourists and place it at these photo ops, but I wasn't sure if I would be in trouble even if the litter wasn't mine.

I also tried green graffiti, but realized I didn't have the correct tools/cleaning supplies, and pivoted to the chalk drawings.
