I am so tired today. More so than usual. I left around 5 yesterday to get some more supplies for my puppet. This was how I left it:

I also made a mock-up of a shirt and sculpted some removable hands. Today, I plan to try dyeing yarn for the hair, wrapping the body in sports tape to prevent the batting from fraying, and painting the skin and horns.
In class today, we saw presentations by Juan, Kristen, Justine, Warwick, and Sheila.
Juan's presentation was about water color resist with the assignment focusing on animal mash ups. He did a great job, and I only offered feedback about having texture examples for future lessons.
Warwick's presentation was about animal puppets, and I especially loved how they asked us:
"What is your favorite animal?"
"What sound does it make?"
"Do humans impact them or their homes?"
These were thought-provoking and well done.
Kristen had us try making Adinkra symbols, an old Ghanaian communication device where individual things have a symbol to represent them. I struggled with the technology but did not feel discouraged and pushed through. I didn't get a picture.
Justine's presentation was about combining pop culture/present day characters with historical artworks. I had too much fun with this, and I can see kids enjoying it too.
Last, Sheila had us do Collagraph printmaking and frotage impressions. It was a lot of set up and clean up, but it was an effective lesson and accessible.

To finish the day, I spent my studio time checking in with AJ and Kristen for our critiques the next two days, and working on my puppet. She now has clothes! I am super proud of her, and although I see its flaws, I am not going to stop. I AM,
however, going to go home now because my cats need to eat, and so do I!
